Overtone singing – discover your fascinating voice

Workshop with pre-registration
The larynx is a catapult of frequencies and we recognize people by their individual timbre of their voice. How sound is produced is quite complex and has to do with your body. By changing the shape of your mouthcave and using different resonance chambers you can amplify some of the overtones in your voice: It can sound like an extra melody above the fundamental note. Overtone singing has a long tradition in Mongolia and Tuva. Frank Heinkel will give you a glimpse of three basic techniques: sygyt, hömeii and kargyraa. Photo: Sabrina Lieb
