Ævestaden

The Norwegian/Swedish trio Ævestaden combines long chorales, modern lyrics and pop with a soundscape that’s not afraid of either the clear, dirty, electronic or traditional. Their signature is the constantly varying instrument combinations where everything from lyre, violins, kantele, vocals, harmonica and electronic sounds and beats, opens up a unique soundscape. Timeless harmonies and layers with minimalist motifs, create a living and atmospheric world. The songs depict the big emotions, the conscious and the subconscious – the mundane and the sacred – about life, death and the trivial. During Urkult, Ævestaden offers two concerts, one in Ådals Liden’s church and one in Danslogen, welcome to sail along in this unique trio’s distinctive musical magic.
