With raw power, the acclaimed artist Lars-Ánte Kuhmunen takes us on a journey fraught with hardships and challenges, known to few outside the Sami community. Lars-Ánte is a musical trailblazer in the fusion of traditional Sami yoik and American roots music, where yoik constitutes the central element and is colored by instruments. He began yoiking as a young boy and is now counted among the foremost and most influential artists in his genre. With humor and self-awareness, he draws upon his experiences as a reindeer herder in Gabna sameby, Kiruna municipality, when yoiking the mountain, the reindeer, and the wind.
